The Masked City (The Invisible Library, #2)The Masked City by Genevieve Cogman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was just as delightful as the last, and a bit more adventurous. After Irene's apprentice, Kai (who's also a dragon -- fun side note), is abducted, she must use the magical powers given to her by the Library to rescue him. Their friend, legendary detective Peregrine Vale (a lovable replica of Sherlock Holmes) reminds us that wit and cunning are just as important as magic and power.

Their adventures take them through alternate realities similar to and different from our own, culminating in a wild chase through a fae-infested Venice.

Cogman's world is full of fluid magical laws that are still somehow easy to follow and understand. The end of this book sets up for a third, and I'm already counting down the days until its release.

I received this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
