Isabella: Girl in ChargeIsabella: Girl in Charge by Jennifer Fosberry
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I really wanted to love this book because of the description and the subject matter.

However, the references to historical ladies in positions of power could only really be understood by adults. When you remove the historical references that the target audience wouldn't understand, you're left with a confusing story about a vacationing girl who tells her parents to call her by a new name on each page.

There are blurbs in the back about all of the women referenced in the story, so you can refresh yourself on that before explaining it to the kids. This is recommended for close one-on-one reading with a child who is feeling particularly patient that day.

I received this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
