While this is technically book 2 in a new series, it is really a continuation of Chloe Neill's Chicagoland Vampire series, and does require the background knowledge of those books. And while I was a bit lukewarm on the original series, I am really loving the spinoff. Recommended for fans of urban fantasy, or maybe a bit of paranormal romance (although it's not a romance-romance, per se).

You could probably hop right into this series without reading the Chicagoland Vampire series, if you're willing to spoil that series for yourself.
